While this will not surprise most Resilience practitioners, The Journal of Sexual Medicine (Nov 12, 2009) published an article demonstrating that yoga improves sex life. In the past studies have shown that yoga:
1. Eases anxiety and depression
2. Lowers blood pressure
3. Improves joint pain and function
4. Relieves pain and many other mental and physical complaints.
The study involved 40 healthy, mostly married and sexually active women between 22 and 55 who learned 22 yoga poses for 12 weeks. Note that the practice was followed by breathing and relaxation. Researchers found that six domains of sexual function improved: desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, pain, and overall satisfaction. Benefits were particularly marked in the women over 45.
Comment : A small study based out of New Delhi and Mumbai. They plan a larger study with a control group.
